Trilogy by Gina Kim - (1) Bloodless
Bloodless is the first part of the trilogy, with which Gina Kim addresses the events that took place in Dongducheon Camp in South Korea. Kim draws attention to the murder of Yoon Geum Yi, who was brutally killed by a US soldier at Dongducheon Camp in 1992. She was one of the sex workers who lived near the US airbase in Kunsan, South Korea. The virtual reality experience traces the last moments of her life in the camp town, taking us to the site where the horrific crime took place. Gina Kim examines the specific fate of one individual to shed light on a historical and political topic, making it tangible.
