My Father’s Diaries

Ado Hasanović / Italy, France / 2024 / 93 min

In 1993, in the midst of the Bosnian war, Bekir Hasanović exchanged a gold coin for a camera. He took the pictures together with his improvised crew named Dzon, Ben & Boys. When director Ado Hasanovic finds his father’s old photos and diary entries decades later, he begins to reconstruct how his father survived the Srebrenica genozide. Together with his family, Ado Hasanovic starts deciphering the tragic history of not only his family, but an entire people.
