PEN Podcast

The podcast of the PEN Center Germany sheds light on the work of the center and the challenges that writers face globally. Founded in 1924 as part of the international PEN network, PEN Center Germany advocates for cultural and freedom of expression. It maintains two central programs: “Writers in Prison,” which supports politically persecuted authors, and "Writers in Exile," which offers persecuted writers the opportunity to live and work safely in Germany. The podcast provides space for discussions on current topics and voices of authors from around the world. Each episode is hosted by a different PEN member and addresses the importance of free speech in today’s world. The PEN Podcast is not only a platform to support persecuted authors but also a voice against oppression and for free exchange of ideas.
