“Kabul Beauty” takes you to Afghanistan, where two best friends, Sofia and Nigina, run a beauty parlour in Kabul. In the midst of Taliban rule, their salon offers a retreat for women where they can be pampered and openly discuss the current situation. The salon is one of the few places where men are not allowed to enter. It is Sofia and Nigina's dream to defend this island of safety for as long as possible. The film follows the two women over a year and a half and provides intimate insights into their struggle for freedom and friendship.
